To welcome in the Chinese New Year, Bothos dedicated its window to the year of the rabbit. This coincided with the relocation of Setha jewellery into the Bothos concept store. To launch this new redesign, Bothos hosted an opening event on January 27th 2011.

Bothos presents Shan Shui Mountain|Water – An Exhibition of Landscapes by Basil Pao celebrating the release of his new book and the launch of a new series of Limited Edition Photographer Bag.
From November 30 to December 6, 2010, the Bothos Concept Store will morph into a gallery space and creative hub staging an exhibition of travel photographs by Basil Pao. Widely recognized for his collaborations with the BBC’s Michael Palin, Pao is known for his arresting landscapes and images from across the globe. This show celebrates the publication of Pao’s new book ‘Shan Shui Mountain|Water’ and the launch of a new Photographer Bag Series by Bothos.
To evoke the idea of the Opium Road and the hallucinations of the mind, Bothos invited guests to the mysterious moods of the A/W 2010 collection as the store turned into it’s own style den. Black cushions around the store made for comfortable lounging areas for guests to enjoy whilst listening to Yao who played a special hypnotic selection of smoke imbued music from funky ethno jazz to hazy beats and everything in between.
The store window on Hollywood Road gives passerby a further glimpse into the BOTHOS world and to launch A/W 2010 the world represents the Opium Road.
Black lanterns evoke a dark fumoir feel with the ‘Feng’ style bag in off-white displayed, sat on an opium bed with a silver pipe. The bag itself takes on a human form as if smoking to give visual life into the imaginary world. Each object in the window has a meaning; the birdcage to the left of the window represent the idea that opium can open one’s imagination but can also be a prison of the mind. The opium bed is a direct reference and was an item of furniture that was already in the store.
The launch party for the new Spring/Summer 2010 collection, Legend of the White Elephant, was held on Tuesday, 22nd April. Customers and friends joined the festivities at the store, enjoying Indian delicacies and drinks and soaking in the smell of Indian spices used to decorate and light up the store. Sara Mush, a Hong Kong-based henna artist, provided guests with beautiful henna tattoos whilst DJ Lucas Luraka played funky tunes well into the night.

‘Travel’ is a founding inspiration of the BOTHOS world and concept. This time our journey stops in India. Starting with the first window ‘Dandy India’, followed by ‘The Legend of the White Elephant’, Bothos will display new bags every week starting March 9th for one month.
India is a beautiful land that exudes tradition and contradictions. The Bothos traveler through India approaches his journey with a sophisticated yet unique style. The ‘dandy’ icon represents the elegance of the couture style, mixed with an exasperate originality.

On March 4th 2010 BOTHOS on 20 Hollywood Road, held a very successful party for the collaborative exhibition with Italian heritage design brand Brionvega. The two Italian brands are brought together by a strong focus on design and offering excellence in product craftsmanship.
The BOTHOS store was transformed into a beautiful display of Brionvega products, complete with the iconic Radio-phonograph in the window.
